About Our Gyms

Our mission is to enhance the lives of our members and their families by improving their health, fitness and wellness through their commitment, our individualized coaching, and a supportive community. We aim to be Northwest Indiana’s premier CrossFit facility.

All fitness levels are welcome, from an athlete with competitive aspirations, to an athlete looking to begin their fitness journey. We also offer a barbell club for those who’d like to sole focus on olympic lifts, or, as a supplement to their CrossFit training.

Our gym is  located in Munster, Indiana, and our new location opening in July is in Dyer, Indiana.

What is CrossFit?

At CrossFit 219 we participate in classes that are programmed with the intention of improving our overall fitness. We define fitness as our ability to perform an amount of work in a given time using a broad set of functional movements. It is this pursuit of fitness that will lead to increases in strength, flexibility, endurance, stamina, functional capacity for everyday life and “health correlates” such as fat loss, muscle gain, lowered heart rate and blood pressure, increased bone density, hormonal improvements and the list goes on.

The workouts are challenging, engaging, fun, different every day, safe for all ages and ability levels, carefully planned and highly instructional. We pride ourselves in providing every client of our gym with a high level of coaching as well as keeping them safe while they train.

How we are responding to Covid-19

 

Safety Measures - PLEASE READ THE DETAILS:

  1. We will take everyone's temperature upon entering the gym. Less than 100.4 is the magic number.

  2. Classes will be 45 minutes. Please do not arrive more than 5 minutes early or stay after class inside the gym.  We cannot have more than 15  people ever on the gym floor.

  3. We will not have any bands, rollers, common jump ropes for anyone's use as well as weight belts.

  4. We recommend you bring a yoga mat or towel for pushups, burpees, etc.   We want you to feel comfortable and safe.

  5. You must sign up for class in Wodify. There will be no more than 14 athletes allowed in each class. Each person will be assigned a 10' space.

  6. We will not have any seating available in the locker room at this time. You should leave any equipment including shoes at the gym in a locker.  You are welcome to lock your locker.

  7. YOU MUST CHANGE SHOES UPON ENTERING THE GYM.  WE RECOMMEND YOU LEAVE YOUR SHOES IN A LOCKER AND YOU ARE WELCOME TO LOCK IT. 

  8. If you have cold or allergy symptoms, are coughing or not feeling well please do not come to class.  When in doubt- please stay home. A coach has the right to ask you to go home if you are clearly not feeling well.

  9. Everyone will wash their hands as they come in and wash their hands again prior to leaving.

  10. We will limit equipment sets and avoid sharing equipment.

  11. Please wipe down everything you use.

  12. We will clean between each class as we have allotted time in order to do this.

  13. Each coach will have a checklist that must be completed at opening, between classes and at closing. We will keep the check lists as documentation of our cleaning procedures as well as required products. In addition, our gym will be professionally cleaned two times a week.

  14. There will be no open gym at this time.

Cleaning Protocol

  1. We will use a professional cleaning service two times a week to clean our entire gym.

  2. Coaches will be required to clean between classes and have a checklist that must be done before the next class can begin.

  3. Coaches have a separate cleaning checklist for opening and closing.

  4. All checklists will be available to members to review at any time.

  5. We have new floors and we had them professionally cleaned.   We will do so as much as possible.
